Geohash Droid is an implementation of Randall Munroe's (of XKCD fame) Geohashing algorithm.
New in 0.7.7: - Now uses your phone's built-in Gallery app for pictures. - Fixed image scaling bugs. - Fixed out of memory bugs. - Fixed minutes/seconds displays in some locales.

Whoot!
Would be great if it could alert me when if the day's location is within a specified area.
Does exactly what the web generator does! I've had no problems with this app, and all of us nerds love our Android phones. (It's linux in disguise)
Would be better if it displayed the point to greater accuracy (rounds three more places than online). Nonetheless, amazing app, so glad i found it!
Great app ... please make it possible to visialise other geohash from the adjacent graticules
Jesse, you're using a Google phone, Google it :)
Cool app if you like geocaching. but what the hell is xkcd..?
Excellent!
If you are an xkcd fan this is a must have app. Way more then I expected!
The app is perfect! The locations aren't picked by a person, it's an algorithm. Sometimes the locale is inaccessible-just try again tomorrow.
Sent me to the Atlantic... Hero
Awesome app. Works great!
Its most likely me..but..I don't see what the big hairy deal is with this
Adding photos doesn't work quite right on Sprint Hero. Camera doesn't open.
Run! It's a velociraptor in disguise!
Don't know if it's my droid or if app stopped working right, but worked great for a while
Awesome idea! Of course I should have expected it, since so many of us nerds use Android. :D
Love the idea, will do this when one is closer to home.
Holy cow! I can't believe how full-featured this app is already. Keep up the good work for all us crazy XKCD'ers out there :)
Very fun
Awesome app. Check out yougonow.org to win free Wii, X-Box 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo DS games and other great geocaching prizes.
What
Very cool. This is the app that I would want to write!
Perfect for geohashing with a Droid.
The new wiki updating features are awesome! It creates the whole page so quickly and easily! Can the update box wrap text please?
1. Download 2. Start 3. ... 4. Profit
Great app, nice to have wiki access so soon. Requested features: option to visit graticule page, ability to get directions and/or export hash to maps
Where is gkcd?!
Awesome app just use your brain when visiting the destination
Doesn't scale to screen. Can't see buttons in qvga.
@Jason: uh... it's the same algorithm whether you use the site or the app. @Dev: good work, keep it up :D
Fun!
Very fun, but over half the time the destination is in the ocean.
I live in las Vegas, it wants me to drive 400 miles, retarded app, better to use website. Delete
This app is awesome! True that some hashes are far away, but app is true to formula!
Would be amazing but as of now it's useless in NYC. Point is like 12 miles out at sea.
Really love it, but sadly my town is at the corner of 4 hashes, so all trips are ecessively long. Would be nice if i could manually move the hash.
Algorithm only ever sends me in one direction, because I'm near the corner of a graticule.
This is insanely geek. Love it!
Awesome, really awesome.
Awesome!
Stupid, pick your own destination, it put me in the middle of the Olympic Rainforest!
Absolutely fantastic, just did my first geohashing trip!
Cool, now I'm prepared when a meeting at geohash location is announced.
Te da una coordenada aleatoria para que la visites. En mi caso, 30km mar adentro.
Useless in sydney australia
Rien compris au concept
Great but wished it could show the closest location instead of having to switch grids to manually search it out
Excellent. Now i never miss a day.
Easily the most convenient way to check the daily hash spot from wherever you are. Thanks dev!
Driving 60 miles to the middle of a farmers field isn't my idea of fun.
I love u
Brauch i ned
So cool!
Splendid! Successully used on 2009-05-02. Was hoping for some kind of claxon when i reached the spot, but still just fine as-is.
This is really cool but it kept giving me a location in the water. D;
You are my hero!! Great app saves me a lot of trouble :D
Great app. Would be great if it could automatically calculate the location in the morning and alert you if it is nearby.
Wow, this is the coolest app around. Even this beta looks great with useful feat. New version with big info screen. Epic.
Love this app
Seems neat. Not my cup of tea.
Just like the comic, this appeals to the geek in me. The app alone is genius and the wiki pages and community make it even better!
Love the idea and comic, but implementation when in the sf bay area keeps putting me in the ocean or the bay
Great fun. Shame it isn't possible to easily upload a photo to some website with the day's photos. The website should also be viewable from the app.
Does what it says on the tin - or in the comic, as the case may be. Nice use of mapping.
It doesnt let you put hours and minutes in the coordinates. i'll keep trying but so far its been putting me in the bay or ocean.
Kool but how the heck am i gonna get into march airforce base? :(
Awesome.
Just plain awesome. Going to have to check one of these out sometime...
Works very nice. Functional interface. But only readers of XKCD will know what to do...
Great concept. Unfortunately, I've had it two days. First day it wanted me to climb to the top of a mountain. I don't think this should be used in AK.
I applaud the achievement that is this app. Perfect app for this audience, decent ui and does what its supposed to. Great job.
Awesome. Cant wait to mess around with this.
I like it i just dont own a boat and cant get in the gulf of mexico... : (
I read it. Then i uninstalled it.
Amanda: if you would take two minutes of your time, there is a button right in the app that takes you to a page that explains exactly what this does.
Looks really cool but have no idea what this is so uninstalled. :/
