Fun to play with. Decibels is not a unit, though. The app should specify what weighting it's using, if any.
Works after a fashion, but it seems to be very dependent on the levels of the microphone in each type of phone which varies a lot.

Seems to work well on my Droid. 70 DB in my old diesel pickup going 65 would be about right.
